Whether you are setting up an EII router from factory default settings, or you want to ensure that you are using the standard configuration per EII directives, restoring your EII machine router via configuration file is the fastest way to get up and running with your EII network.

Step-by-step guide

  1. You can obtain the latest configuration file from the following page that matches the router you have: Routers
  2. Transfer the .cfg file from where you have downloaded it to one of the computers attached to the EII router.
  3. Log into the router

If a factory default configured router

  1. Navigate to http://192.168.1.1 and utilize the username/password of cisco/cisco
  2. When the Router Setup Wizard appears, put a checkbox next to 'Do not show' and click the 'Cancel' button.
  3. You will then be sent to a Change Password screen. Put 'admin' in the Old Password textbox, and put in 'firstclass' for the New Password and Confirm Password textboxes.
Put a checkmark in 'Disable Password Strength Enforcement' and answer 'Yes' when prompted to confirm disabling the enforcement.
    Click 'Save'.
  4. You will then be sent back to the Login screen. This time, login with cisco/firstclass for the username and password.

  5. Navigate to Administration → Backup and Restore Settings on the left hand menu.

  6. Click on the Browse button in the center of the screen next to 'Locate & select the upload file'
This will open a File Open browse window - select the .cfg file you received from support or downloaded from the site and select Open.
