Introduction

Some models of the EZ-Flats Premium machine feature a removable and interchangeable tamp head in order to facilitate labels of varying sizes. The following steps will show how you to remove one tamp head and attach another.

Note: You will need to turn off the air flow to the Premium and bleed off the remaining air pressure before proceeding. Instructions for doing so can be found here.

Removing a Tamp Head

1. Once the air has been bled from the machine, the tamp head will be sitting on the rollers.

2. Support the tamp head with your hand, and loosen the two black topped screws, twisting them counterclockwise.

Note: The screws have arrows to guide you on how to turn them. For this step, twist in the "UNLOCK" direction.

3. Set the removed tamp head aside.

Attaching a Tamp Head

1. Align the protruding alignment post of the new tamp head with the left side of the applicator's tamp.

2. Gently press the tamp head upward, making sure not to wrinkle the center O ring

3. Support the tamp head with your hand and squeeze the two plates together to avoid cross-threading.  Tighten the two black topped screws, turning them clockwise.

Note: The screws have arrows to guide you on how to turn them. For this step, twist in the "LOCK" direction.

4. Remove your hand. If the tamp head cannot be pulled away or tilted, it has been fully attached.

The machine is ready to have the air turned back on and be returned to service.
