Introduction

The table below categorizes errors that might be displayed on the controller, caused by problems in pieces of hardware, such as a barcode scanner or light board. Each error is presented with an example of the controller's display and an explanation, with some troubleshooting suggestions.

AT MAX SCANNERS
When this message appears, no more ring scanners can be connected.
BT SCANNER NOT PROGRAMMED
This error appears when an non-programmed ring scanner was paired with the LightSort system, and an operator attempted to scan a barcode with that scanner.

Refer to the "LightSort System Configuration Codes" article on ring scanners for the procedure to reprogram a scanner.
TOO MANY DEVICES
This error appears when the max number of ring scanners were already connected and an operator attempts to connect an additional one.
UNABLE TO PAIR!

This error will occur when attempting to pair a ring scanner. It indicates there was a problem communicating with the scanner.
Auto ID Failed
This error will appear when at least one light board or hub experienced communication issues during the Auto ID process. Begin troubleshooting by completing the error isolation process discussed in the "Isolating Errors" article.
BOARDS W/O IDS DETECTED!
ERROR!

This error will occur when an orphan node is detected. Begin troubleshooting by completing the error isolation process discussed in the "Isolating Errors" article.
Error! Multiple Responses!
This error appears when multiple errors were received during the Auto ID process. Begin troubleshooting by completing the error isolation process discussed in the "Isolating Errors" article. If the problem persists, it may indicate a different
hardware issue.
