Introduction

If both the controller's display and power indicator are both dark, there is no power to the controller.

There are multiple small problems that can interupt power flow to the controller. Each of these should be checked before considering the controller to be defective.

Troubleshooting Procedure

Warning: Power loss may be due to a damaged wiring. Carefully unplug the LightSort rack and check for damaged wires before proceeding. Do not use a LightSort rack with damaged wiring.

If no damaged wiring is found, check the following connections/items:

• Is the power strip plugged into the outlet?

• Is the power strip turned on?
Lit Power Strip Indicator
• Is the controller power supply plugged to the power strip?

• Is the controller power supply connection plugged in to the barrel connector?

If all connections are secure and the power strip is on but there is still no sign of power to the controller, check that the outlet being used has power. If a qualified technician is not available to do so, a working piece of equipment (i.e. a fan) can be used to test the outlet for power. If the outlet does not have power, notify an electrician.

If the controller display is dark but the power indicator inside the controller housing is lit, there is an internal issue with the controller or the display, and the controller will need to be replaced. If you need a new controller, please contact Customer Support. Once you have a new controller, refer to the "Replacing a Controller" article for instructions on how to install a new controller.
