USPS Outgoing April Patch Issues

Many of our customers have encountered an issue with the USPS Outgoing  mandatory patch that was pushed this weekend. This forum post is to assure all of  you that are experiencing issues that we are both aware of the errors  and we are working to solve this as quickly as possible.  We will also post all updates as replies to this topic as we get them. 


What we know so far:   There was a problem with the force pushed that is preventing customers from accessing the Helm and Console due to the shortcut being changed. 

Steps moving forward: We will be posting updates hourly to keep all our customers in the loop.


Many of our customers have encountered an issue with the USPS Outgoing  mandatory patch that was pushed this weekend. This post serves as an  update on what we have learned about that issue.  


What we know so far: The  patch push removed the Helm and Console applications from the EII  server. A potential fix has been applied to a few customers and has been successful.

Steps moving forward: EII customer support is pushing out the fix and continuing to search for the underlying cause. Agents are working individually with customers to apply the fix. Until the underlying problem is found, we will continue to send hourly updates.

What we know so far: Not  all sites that received the patch have experienced the issue with their  shortcuts, and we suspect that there was an error in how KACE pushed  the patch to customers.

Steps moving forward: Support  agents are working with customers to check system versions on all  machines, remove any updates that failed to install correctly, and  reinstall the patch. Until the underlying problem is found, we will  continue to send hourly updates.

What we know so far: The  source of the issue was discovered. The software we use to push the  patch attempted to push multiple versions of the same patch, often  resulting in none of the versions installing properly.

Steps moving forward: Support  agents are fixing the issue on all sites. If you are experiencing  difficulty and have not reached out to EII Customer Support yet, please  call in so we can get you up and running again. All steps taken are  being documented to keep this issue from affecting future patches. There  will be no more hourly updates at this point.
